On Sunday October 21st STPD Officers handled 26 incidents, investigated 1 motor vehicle accident, and responded to 3 alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

DUI-2400 block of E Market St

At 0118 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on E Market St and the driver was found to be under the influence.  He was arrested for DUI and transported to Central Booking.  He refused a blood test and was processed for his first DUI.  Charges to be filed.

DUI-2400 block of Eastern Blvd

At 0208 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on Eastern Blvd and the driver was found to be under the influence.  He was arrested for DUI and transported to Central Booking for a blood test and processing.  Charges pending blood test results.

Possession of marijuana/Drug paraphernalia-2300 block of E Market St

At 0212 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on E Market St and two occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  They were released with charges to be filed.

Possession of marijuana/Drug paraphernalia-N Hills Rd at Rt 30

At 0238 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on N Hills Rd and three occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  They were released with charges to be filed.

Criminal mischief-Roundhill Rd

At 1143 hours an Officer took a report for criminal mischief to a vehicle.  The victim advised someone had damaged a tire on his vehicle.

Theft-Walmart, E Market St

At 1347 hours an Officer met with the victim who advised he had accidentally left cash behind at a self-checkout register.  When he returned to get the cash it was gone.  Video surveillance showed a female had taken the cash and photos were posted for identification assistance.

Institutional vandalism-Stonewood Park

At 1431 hours an Officer responded to Stonewood Park for the report of graffiti that was painted on several items at the park.

Retail theft-Walmart, E Market St

At 1700 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female had taken $202 worth of merchandise without paying.  She was released with charges to be filed.

Indecent assault-Burlington Coat Factory, E Market St

At 1717 hours an Officer responded to the business and met with the victim who reported a male had touched her while she was shopping.  The male fled the store when confronted and was last seen running towards Walmart.  Video surveillance was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.

Hit and run-Kelly’s Inn, N Sherman St

At 1808 hours an Officer took a report for a hit and run that occurred in the parking lot.  A witness provided information on the striking vehicle and the investigation is ongoing.
