On Tuesday October 9th STPD Officers handled 32 incidents, investigated 1 motor vehicle accident, and responded to 3 alarms. Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:
Fleeing and eluding/Thefts from vehicles-S Harlan St at Third Ave
At 0215 hours Officers were searching the area for a subject who was wanted out of Virginia for an armed carjacking. The subject was located and fled from police in a vehicle which was last seen turning onto E Market St. The same subject is believed to be responsible for a stolen vehicle and several thefts from vehicles in the York area that occurred around this time. Later on this date STPD Officers took related theft from vehicle reports on S Harlan St, S Kershaw St and Idylwyld Rd.
Retail theft-Kohls, Pleasant Valley Rd
At 1514 hours an Officer responded to Kohls for the report of a female in the parking lot who just committed a retail theft. An employee advised the female had taken $64 worth of merchandise without paying. The female was identified and found to have 13 prior convictions for retail theft. She was taken to the hospital for a medical complaint and a felony warrant will be obtained for the theft charge.
Theft-Aroogas, Haines Rd
At 2203 hours an Officer responded to Aroogas for the report of a theft of a lap top computer. The victim advised someone had taken the item from part of the restaurant that is covered by a camera. The investigation is ongoing.
