On Wednesday October 10th STPD Officers handled 29 incidents, investigated 3 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 3 alarms. Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:
Retail theft-Weis Market, E Market St
At 1251 hours an Officer responded to Weis Market for a female in custody for retail theft. An employee advised the female had taken $106 worth of merchandise without paying. She was found to have 4 prior convictions for retail theft making this offense a felony. She was transported to Central Booking where she was charged.
Retail theft-Walmart, E Market St
At 1300 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a female in custody for retail theft. An employee advised the female had taken $291 worth of merchandise without paying. She was released with charges to be filed.
Retail theft-Giant, E Market St
At 1504 hours an Officer responded to Giant for the report of a retail theft that occurred earlier. An employee advised two males took $236 worth of seafood without paying. One was identified and the investigation is ongoing.
Theft of a vehicle-Apple Nissan, Whiteford Rd
At 1510 hours an Officer responded to the business for a vehicle theft report. An employee advised that a female inquired about purchasing a Nissan Murano but then got into an argument about the price of the vehicle. The female then got in the vehicle and fled the parking lot. The vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen and the female was identified. The investigation is ongoing.
Criminal mischief-Action Motorsports, Whiteford Rd
At 1552 hours an Officer met with an employee who advised that twice within the past month someone had damaged windows at the business with a small caliber gun or BB gun.
Theft-Walmart, E Market St
At 1610 hours an Officer took a report of a theft of cash that occurred at Walmart. The victim advised she got cash back from a transaction and accidentally left the cash behind at the register. When she realized this and returned to the register the cash was gone.
Retail theft-Giant, E Market St
At 1615 hours an Officer responded to Giant for the report of a retail theft that occurred earlier. An employee advised two males took $515 worth of meat, seafood, and laundry detergent without paying. One was identified and the investigation is ongoing.
