On Thursday June 21st STPD Officers handled 29 incidents, investigated 2 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 2 alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Fleeing and eluding-Wallace St at N Findlay St

At 0220 hours an Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver Jeep Cherokee with a sofa strapped to the roof.  The Jeep fled from police and was last seen traveling west on E Market St.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1009 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female had taken $33 worth of merchandise without paying.  She was found to have 3 prior convictions for retail theft and she was transported to Central Booking and charged with her fourth offense, a felony.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1017 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female had taken $106 worth of merchandise without paying.  She was cited and released for her first offense.

Theft-Artesian Smile Dentist, 2300 E Market St

At 1209 hours an Officer responded to the business for the report of a theft.  An employee advised a patient had stolen some office supplies while in the building.  The items were recovered and prosecution was declined.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1225 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a male in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the male had taken $25 worth of merchandise without paying.  He was found to have 2 prior convictions for retail theft and he was transported to Central Booking and charged with his third offense, a felony.

Endangering the welfare of children-Village Green Shopping Center, 2300 E Market St

At 1614 hours an Officer responded to the parking lot for the report of several small children left alone in a vehicle.  The vehicle was located with the children inside and charges are pending further investigation.

Strangulation-600 block of Park Ave

At 2137 hours Officers responded to a residence on Park Ave for a physical domestic dispute.  Investigation revealed a male choked a female during an argument.  He was transported to Central Booking and charged.
