On Wednesday August 30th STPD Officers handled 19 incidents, investigated 5 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 1 burglar alarm.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Harassment-York Suburban Middle School, 455 Sundale Dr

At 0940 hours an Officer responded to YSMS for the report of a fight that occurred between students on 8/24/17.  Information was obtained about who was involved and the investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-K Mart, 1094 Haines Rd

At 1037 hours an Officer responded to K Mart for a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female had taken $38 in merchandise without paying.  It was discovered that the female had 3 prior convictions for retail theft, making this a felony.  She was transported to Central Booking and charged.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1309 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female had taken $27 worth of merchandise without paying.  She was released with charges to be filed.

At 1445 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft that occurred earlier.  An employee advised several subjects worked together to take $759 worth of merchandise last night.  They left in a vehicle and the tag number was obtained.  The investigation is ongoing.

Escape-Youth Development Center, 3564 Heindel Rd

At 1457 hours an Officer responded to YDC for the report of a juvenile resident who fled the facility.  Charges were completed.

 Theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1530 hours an Officer took a report of a theft of a purse that occurred yesterday at Walmart.

Terroristic threats-VA Clinic, 2251 Eastern Blvd

At 1553 hours an Officer responded to the VA Clinic for the report of a subject who made threatening statements about his parole agent.  The subject was transported to Camp Hill Prison and charges will be filed.

Theft by deception-300 block of Folkstone Way

At 1802 hours an Officer took a report for theft by deception.  The victim advised she received a phone call from someone who claimed her grandson was under arrest and needed money to get out of jail.  The victim obtained gift cards as instructed by the caller and provided them with the card numbers.  The total loss is $2,000.
