On Tuesday August 22nd STPD Officers handled 41 incidents, investigated 1 motor vehicle accident, and responded to 3 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Vehicle theft-300 block of Greystone Rd

At 0819 hours an Officer responded to a residence on Greystone Rd for the report of a stolen vehicle.  The victim advised her gold Saturn sedan was stolen from her driveway overnight.  The vehicle was unlocked and a spare key was inside.  It was entered into NCIC as stolen.

Theft-Village East Apartments, 3400 Eastern Blvd

At 0940 hours an Officer responded to the complex for a theft report.  The victim advised that someone entered her apartment on 8/21/17 and removed some property to include a handgun.  Suspect information was provided and the gun was entered into NCIC as stolen.

Simple assault-Nello Tire, 1210 Haines Rd

At 1254 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of an assault that occurred on 8/16/17.  The victim stated a known subject had assaulted him at the business and the investigation is ongoing.

Simple assault-Youth Development Center, 3564 Heindel Rd

At 1331 hours an Officer responded to YDC for the report of an assault.  The investigation revealed one juvenile resident struck another juvenile resident with a pool cue.  Charges were completed for simple assault.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1408 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft.  A manager advised an employee was found to have taken merchandise on several occasions over a period of time.  Charges to be filed.

Retail theft-Giant, 2415 E Market St

At 1448 hours an Officer responded to Giant for the report of a retail theft that occurred on 8/20/17.  An employee advised two females took $137 worth or merchandise without paying.  Photos of the females were disseminated for identification assistance.

Attempted vehicle theft-3000 block of Rex Dr

At 1516 hours an Officer responded to a residence on Rex Dr for the report of an attempted vehicle theft that occurred overnight.  The victim advised several vehicles were parked in the driveway of his residence.  One vehicle was unlocked and it contained a key to another one of the vehicles.  The suspect used the key to enter the other vehicle and attempted to drive that vehicle away but the suspect was unable to get the vehicle out of the driveway due to it being parked in.

Theft-Yorkshire Dental, 3233 Eastern Blvd

At 1516 hours an Officer responded to Yorkshire Dental for a theft report.  An employee advised that it was recently discovered that cash was missing from the business.  A suspect was identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Possession of drug paraphernalia-Wiener World, 2310 Industrial Hwy

At 2037 hours an Officer responded to York Hospital for the report of an overdose.  Staff advised a subject was brought to the hospital for a drug overdose.  Staff located drug paraphernalia on the subject and it was discovered that he overdosed while at Wiener World.  Charges will not be filed due to the drug overdose immunity law.

Criminal mischief-Yorkshire Apartments, 3205 E Market St

At 2322 hours an Officer responded to the Yorkshire Apts for the report of a domestic.  The investigation revealed a female was pounding on the door of an apartment trying to get her ex-boyfriend to answer.  The female hit the door hard enough to break a pane of glass which then cut her arm.  She was transported to the hospital and charges are pending for criminal mischief.
