On Friday April 21st STPD Officers handled 41 incidents, investigated 4 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 3 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

DUI crash-Eastern Blvd at S Harlan St

At 0205 hours Officers responded to Eastern Blvd for the report of a vehicle that crashed into a tree.  The occupants of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and the driver was found to be under the influence.  He was arrested for DUI and taken to Central Booking for a blood test and processing.  Charges were completed due to this being his second DUI offense.

Theft-Avis Rental, 3623 E Market St

At 1230 hours an Officer took a report for a theft from Avis.  A manager advised that a former employee had taken several thousand dollars from the business over the past month.  The investigation is ongoing.

Theft of leased property-Avis Rental, 3623 E Market St

At 1330 hours an Officer took a report for a theft of a vehicle from Avis.  An employee advised a female had rented a vehicle and failed to return it after being told to do so.  Charges pending further investigation.

Fraud-100 block of Crown Pointe Dr

At 1440 hours an Officer met with the victim for a fraud report.  The victim advised he was scammed out of several thousand dollars by a subject using a gift card scheme.  The investigation is ongoing.

Identity theft-300 block of Maywood Rd

At 1550 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of identity theft.  The victim advised someone used his information to open a cell phone account in November of 2016.

Hit and run-S Keesey St

At 1924 hours an Officer responded to a residence on S Keesey St for the report of a hit and run.  The victim advised that someone struck his vehicle overnight while it was parked on the street.

Burglary-100 block of Memory Ln

At 1923 hours Officers responded to a residence on Memory Ln for the report of a burglary.  The victim advised someone had entered his home and removed some items while he was gone.
