On Friday December 23rd STPD Officers handled 33 incidents, investigated 7 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 5 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Counterfeiting-McDonalds, 380 Memory Ln

At 0115 hours an Officer responded to McDonalds for the report of a subject who used two fake bills at the drive-thru.  An employee got the tag number of the subject’s vehicle and he was later stopped by York Area Regional Police.  The subject was identified and provided information on where he got the fake bills.  The investigation is ongoing.

Identity theft-300 block of Norhurst Rd

At 0904 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of identity theft.  She advised someone had used her information to purchase a cell phone without her permission.  Further investigation is needed.

Access device fraud-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1249 hours an Officer responded to Walmart to meet the victim for the report of a fraud.  He advised that someone had used his credit card number to complete two purchases at Walmart on 12/22/16.  The investigation is ongoing.

Simple Assault-York Town Center, 2800 block of Concord Rd

At 1551 hours Officers responded to the parking lot of the York Town Center for the report of an assault.  Two subjects got into an altercation after an argument over a traffic problem.  One subject was punched in the face and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.  Charges pending further investigation.

Escape-Youth Development Center, 3564 Heindel Rd

At 1555 hours an Officer responded to YDC for the report of a juvenile who escaped custody.  An employee advised the juvenile was placed there through probation and fled while being moved.  The juvenile was caught by another employee and returned to the facility.  Charges to be filed.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1710 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female was switching tags on merchandise and deprived Walmart of $59.  She was released with charges to be filed.

At 1710 hours an Officer took another report for a retail theft at Walmart where the suspect had fled.  An employee advised a male had taken $315 worth of merchandise and fled when confronted.  Photos of the suspect were obtained and will be disseminated for identification.

Hit and run-2800 block of Whiteford Rd

At 1831 hours an Officer responded to Whiteford Rd for the report of a hit and run.  The victim advised a vehicle pulled out in front of her and they collided.  The vehicle was a maroon Chevy SUV and it fled the scene, traveling east on Whiteford Rd.

Theft-Yorkshire Apartments, 3205 E Market St

At 1916 hours an Officer responded to the Yorkshire Apartments for the report of a theft of a package.  The victim advised someone had taken a package that was delivered to his door.  The theft occurred between 1900-1915 hours.

Criminal mischief-Springettsbury Twp Police Station, 1501 Mt Zion Rd

At 2022 hours an Officer was flagged down about a criminal mischief that just occurred in the station parking lot. The victim was being followed by a subject who was upset over an apparent traffic problem.  The victim turned into the police station and stopped.  The suspect then exited his vehicle and smashed the windshield of the victim’s vehicle.  The suspect fled but the incident was captured on video.  The suspect’s tag number was obtained and he was identified.  Charges to be filed.

Hit and run-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 2113 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a hit and run.  The victim advised she was driving in the parking lot when another vehicle struck her vehicle.  The striking vehicle was described as an older Chevy Impala which fled the scene west on E Market St.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 2139 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for two subjects in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the subjects had taken $61 worth of merchandise.  Both subjects had warrants and they were taken to Central Booking where they were cited.
