On Tuesday December 13th STPD Officers handled 22 incidents, investigated 6 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 2 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Trespassing-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1247 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a trespassing complaint.  An employee advised a male who had been banned from the store due to past thefts was back inside the store.  The male was cited for trespassing and released.

PFA violation-1600 block of Long Dr

At 1253 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of a PFA violation.  Charges were completed and the suspect was later located and taken to Central Booking.

Theft by deception-2800 block of Concord Rd

At 1328 hours an Officer responded to a business in the 2800 block of Concord Rd for the report of a theft that occurred on 12/12/16.  An employee advised the business received a call from someone claiming to be with Met Ed who threatened to turn off the business’ power unless an overdue utility bill was paid.  The owner of the business transferred $990 to the caller via pre-paid money cards.  On this date the owner discovered he was the victim of a scam and the caller was not with Met Ed.

Drug paraphernalia/Overdose-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1821 hours Officers responded to Walmart for a subject who was unresponsive due to a drug overdose.  Drug paraphernalia was located near the subject leading to the belief it was a heroin overdose.  The subject was revived with several doses of Narcan and transported to the hospital by EMS.  Charges will not be filed due to the drug overdose immunity law.

Retail theft/Possession of heroin-Target, 2610 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1950 hours Officers responded to Target for a retail theft in progress.  An employee advised that  two subjects who had stolen $698 worth of merchandise on 12/12/16 were now in the store again and were removing the security wrap from several electronic items.  The subjects were apprehended as they left the store and found to have taken $1489 worth of merchandise.  One of the subjects was also in possession of heroin.  They were both transported to Central Booking and charged.
