On Monday October 31st STPD Officers handled 24 incidents, investigated 2 motor vehicle accidents and responded to 2 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Simple assault-Central York High School-601 Mundis Mill Rd

At 1005 hours the School Resource Officer took a report for an assault that occurred at the school.  One student struck another with a chair causing an injury.  The investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1130 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female took $125 worth of merchandise.  The female was released and misdemeanor charges will be filed because she has one prior conviction for retail theft.

Theft from auto-Perkins, 2500 E Market St

At 1139 hours the victim responded to the station to make a report of a theft from her vehicle that occurred at Perkins on 10/23/16.  The victim advised her purse was stolen from her vehicle and some of her credit cards had been used in Lancaster.  The investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Kohl’s, 2600 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1223 hours an Officer responded to Kohl’s for the report of three subjects who were in the process of committing a retail theft.  The subjects were taken into custody and found to have taken $56, $119, and $76 worth of merchandise.  They were each cited for summary retail theft and released.

Harassment-3500 block of E Market St

At 1518 hours an Officer responded to the 3500 block of E Market St for the report of a harassment.  The victim advised he and another driver got into an altercation over a traffic dispute.  The tag number of the other vehicle was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1639 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a retail theft where the suspect had fled.  An employee advised the suspect had taken under $50 worth of merchandise and fled after being confronted.  The tag number of the suspect’s vehicle was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.

Hit and run-Memory Ln at E Market St

At 1925 hours an Officer responded to Memory Ln for the report of a hit and run accident.  The victim advised her vehicle was struck by a pickup truck which fled the scene at a high rate of speed.  A tag number was obtained and the driver of the striking vehicle was identified and the investigation is ongoing.
