On Saturday September 17th STPD Officers handled 23 incidents and investigated 4 motor vehicle accidents.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Theft by deception-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1310 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a theft by deception that occurred on 9/1/16.  An employee provided video of a fraudulent return made by a male and a female on that date.  The total loss was $198.

Hit and run-Bloomingdale Dr at Eastern Blvd

At 1430 hours an Officer was dispatched to a hit and run at this intersection.  A witness advised a large white truck had knocked down two street signs and then fled the area.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1417 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of three subjects in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the three had taken a total of $119 in merchandise without paying.  The subjects were identified and released with charges pending further investigation.

Hit and run-Rt 30 at Mt Zion Rd

At 1925 hours an Officer responded to Rt 30 eastbound for the report of a hit and run accident.  The victim advised a black sedan had struck his vehicle, causing him to spin out of control and hit a guardrail.  The black sedan then fled the scene continuing east on Rt 30.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 2139 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female had taken $81 worth of merchandise from the store.  She was identified and released with charges to be filed.

Possession of marijuana-E Market St at Northern Way

At 2358 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on E Market St.  The driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  Charges to be filed.
