On Monday August 15th STPD Officers handled 25 incidents and investigated 2 motor vehicle accidents.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Criminal mischief-Springetts Oaks Park, Pleasant Valley Rd

At 0950 hours an Officer responded to Springetts Oaks Park for the report of vandalism to the pavilion and several pieces of equipment.  Unknown actors had painted various structures at the park.  Evidence was recovered from the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Cruelty to animals-Galleria Mall, 2899 Whiteford Rd

At 1204 hours an Officer responded to the parking lot of the Galleria Mall for the report of a dog locked inside a vehicle.  The dog was found to be in distress and it was removed from the vehicle.  The owner of the dog was located and charges will be filed.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1207 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft that just occurred.  An employee advised a male and female had taken $59 worth of merchandise and fled when confronted.  They were last seen leaving the parking lot in a white Chevrolet Impala.

At 1250 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a male and a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised they had taken $30 worth of merchandise without paying.  They were both cited for summary retail theft and released.

Retail theft-Target, 2610 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1432 hours an Officer responded to Target for the report of a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female had taken $68 worth of merchandise without paying.  The female was taken to Central Booking and charged with her 5th offense of retail theft.
