On Friday July 15th STPD Officers handled 31 incidents, investigated 6 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 1 burglar alarm.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

DUI-3900 block of E Market St

At 0110 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3900 block of E Market St.  The driver of the vehicle was found to be intoxicated and he was arrested for DUI.  The driver was transported to Central Booking for processing.

Criminal trespassing/Simple assault-Jayme Dr

At 0431 hours an Officer responded to an address on Jayme Dr for the report of an assault.  The victim advised a known subject had pushed his way into her home and struck her.  The suspect was identified and charges were completed.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1348 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a female who had fled after committing a retail theft.  An employee advised she stopped the female  after she left the store with merchandise concealed in her purse.  The female removed some of the merchandise from the purse, which had a value of $101, and then fled the area on foot towards E Market St.

Hit an run-Rt 30 at N Hills Rd

At 1602 hours an Officer responded to Rt 30 for the report of a hit and run.  The victim advised his vehicle was struck by a tractor/trailer which continued westbound on Rt 30.  The victim’s vehicle sustained minor damage.

Hit and run-Target, 2610 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1711 hours an Officer responded to Target for the report of a hit and run that occurred in the parking lot.  The victim advised he parked his Lexus in the parking lot and when he came out of the store after shopping, there was damage on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1733 hours the victim reported a theft that occurred at Walmart on 7/14/16.  He advised he sat his backpack down in a shopping cart for a moment and someone had taken it when he wasn’t looking.  The backpack contained his wallet and cell phone.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1954 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female had taken $22 in merchandise without paying.  The female was identified and charges will be filed for her second retail theft offense.

Fraud-Dixie Dr

At 1530 hours the victim reported that a home repair contractor was hired to do work on her home.  The contractor failed to complete the work and further investigation is needed to determine if charges are warranted.
