On Tuesday July 12th STPD Officers handled 51 incidents and responded to 2 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Thefts from vehicles

Officers responded to residences on the following streets for the reports of thefts from unlocked vehicles:

  • Eberts Ln-3 victims reported thefts of items to include a wallet, cash, DVDs, and headphones.
  • Wallace St-1 victim reported a theft of a wallet and cell phone.
  • N Harlan St-1 victim reported a theft of a phone charger.
  • N Manheim St-1 victim reported a theft of cash.
  • Herman Ct-1 victim reported the theft of a purse and cash.
  • S Kershaw St-1 victim reported their vehicle was entered but nothing was taken.
  • Ridgewood Rd-3 victims reported thefts of items to include 2 GPS units, a cell phone charger, cash, and sunglasses.
  • N Harrison St-1 victim reported their vehicle was entered but nothing was taken.
  • Canford St-1 victim reported the theft of coins and a purse.

Burglaries

Officers responded to residences on the following streets for reports of burglaries from garages which were related to the above thefts from vehicles:

  • Herman Ct-1 victim reported his garage was entered and two mountain bikes were taken.
  • Ridgewood Rd-1 victim reported his garage was entered and a Specialized mountain bike and two Dewalt drills were taken.

Hit and run-Chik-Fil-A, 2801 E Market St

At 1400 hours the victim reported a hit and run that occurred in the parking lot of Chik-Fil-A.  Both subjects involved in the accident were identified and later exchanged information.  Neither subject wanted to pursue charges.

Theft by deception-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1651 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a female in custody for theft by deception.  A loss prevention employee advised the female had conducted a fraudulent return in the amount of $36.  The female was identified and released with charges to be filed.

Retail theft-Kohls, 2600 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1359 hours an Officer responded to Kohls for the report of a retail theft where the suspect fled.  An employee advised a male had taken $129 worth of merchandise and left the store without paying.  The employee was able to recover some of the merchandise and obtained the tag number of the vehicle used by the suspect.  He was later identified and charges will be filed.

Trespassing-Yorkshire United Methodist Church, 125 Edgewood Rd

At 1359 hours an Officer responded to the Yorkshire United Methodist Church for the report of trespassing that occurred between 7/8/16 and 7/9/16.  An employee advised an unknown person had damaged a door and entered the church.  The building was checked and nothing was found missing.

Retail theft-Target, 2610 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1530 hours an Officer responded to Target for the report of two juveniles in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised one juvenile took $196 worth of merchandise and the other took $79 worth of merchandise.  The juveniles were released to a guardian with charges to be filed.

Use of air rifles-S Findlay St

At 1924 hours an Officer responded to a residence on S Findlay St for the report of a subject shooting an air rifle.  The subject was identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Kohls, 2600 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1826 hours an Officer responded to Kohls for the report of two females in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised one female had taken $136 worth of merchandise and the other had taken $78 worth of merchandise.  One female was released with charges to be filed and the other was taken to Central Booking for processing because she was not a PA resident.

Hit and run-Haines Rd at Mt Rose Ave

At 2108 hours an Officer responded to the Rutter’s on Haines Rd for the report of a hit and run that occurred on Haines Rd at Mt Rose Ave.  The victim advised an unknown vehicle had struck her and when she pulled into Rutter’s to exchange information, the striking vehicle fled the scene.
