On Friday August 31st STPD Officers handled 34 incidents and investigated 4 motor vehicle accidents.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

DUI-Eastern Blvd

At 0206 hours an Officer was almost struck head-on by a vehicle going west in the eastbound lanes of Eastern Blvd.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was found to be under the influence.  He was arrested for DUI and transported to Central Booking for a blood test and processing.  Charges pending blood test results.

Fraud-Bridlewood Way

At 1050 hours an Officer responded to a residence on Bridlewood Way where the victim advised she received a letter about a loan.  Investigation revealed the letter was fraudulent and the sender was attempting to obtain her personal information for an identity theft scam.

Firearms offense-Walmart, E Market St

At 1315 hours an Officer was notified that in June of 2018 a subject provided inaccurate information at Walmart when he attempted to purchase a firearm.  The investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Walmart, E Market St

At 1459 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female had taken $29 worth of merchandise without paying.  She was cited and released.

Theft-Walmart, E Market St

At 1547 hours an Officer met with the victim who advised her wallet was taken while she was shopping at Walmart.  Further investigation pending review of video surveillance.

Public drunkenness-Weis Markets, E Market St

At 1743 hours an Officer responded to Weis Markets for the report of an intoxicated subject who was bothering customers.  The male was located and transported to his residence with charges to be filed.
