On Saturday June 30th STPD Officers handled 37 incidents, investigated 4 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 1 alarm.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

DUI crash-2800 block of Eastern Blvd

At 0305 hours Officers responded to Eastern Blvd for the report of a vehicle fire.  Investigation revealed a vehicle struck several curbs and then burst into flames.  The fire was extinguished and the driver was located nearby.  He was found to be intoxicated and he was arrested for DUI.  He was transported to Central Booking for a blood test and processing.  The male refused a blood test and was charged with his second DUI.

Theft from a vehicle-2000 block of Wallace St

At 0826 hours an Officer responded to a residence on Wallace St for a theft report.  The victim stated her vehicle was entered overnight and cash and gift cards were taken.

Motor vehicle theft-100 block of N Keesey St

At 1210 hours an Officer responded to a residence on N Keesey St for a vehicle theft report.  The victim stated his Subaru was stolen overnight.  The vehicle was entered into NCIC.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1308 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for two subjects in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the pair had taken $55 worth of merchandise without paying.  They were cited and released.

Hit and run-Party City, 2801 E Market St

At 1650 hours an Officer responded to Party City for the report of a hit and run that occurred in the parking lot.  The victim advised her vehicle was struck while she was inside the store.

Public drunkenness-Lowes, 2449 E Market St

At 1732 hours an Officer responded to Lowes for the report of a male who was highly intoxicated and had fallen.  The male was cited and transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Retail theft-Boscov’s, 2899 Whiteford Rd

At 1822 hours Officers responded to Boscov’s for the report of a male fleeing after committing a retail theft.  An employee advised the male had taken $59 worth of merchandise without paying and fled when confronted.  The male was taken into custody nearby and found to have several arrest warrants.  He was cited for retail theft and transported to Central Booking for the warrants.

Burglary-2000 block of Ridgewood Rd

At 1806 hours an Officer responded to a residence on Ridgewood Rd for a burglary report.  The victim advised someone entered his home within the past week and took several items, to include numerous firearms.

Retail theft-Target, 2610 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 2224 hours an Officer responded to Target for the report of a dog locked inside a vehicle.  Contact was made with the owner of the vehicle in front of the store and it was found she had committed a retail theft.  Charges pending further investigation.
