On Sunday April 8th STPD Officers handled 22 incidents, investigated 3 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 2 alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Possession of marijuana-2500 block of E Market St

At 0036 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on E Market St.  The driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  He was taken to Central Booking and charges were completed due to him not being a PA resident.

Fleeing and eluding/Hit and run-2500 block of E Market St

At 0128 hours an Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on E Market St.  The vehicle fled through a parking lot, striking an occupied vehicle.  The suspect vehicle continued to flee and was last seen traveling west on E Market St.  A tag number was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.

DUI-Eastern Blvd at Northern Way

At 0233 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle was driving the wrong way on Eastern Blvd.  The driver was found to be intoxicated and he was arrested for DUI.  He was transported to Central Booking for a blood test and processing.  Charges pending blood test results.

Simple assault-2600 block of Eastern Blvd

At 0459 hours an Officer took a report for a simple assault that occurred in a parking lot on Eastern Blvd.  The victim advised she was assaulted by a known subject.  Charges pending further investigation.

Retail theft-Rutters, 1450 Mt Zion Rd

At 0847 hours an Officer responded to Rutters for the report of a retail theft that just occurred.  Employees advised a male took $5 worth of merchandise without paying.  The male was still in the parking lot and he was identified and cited for summary retail theft.

Theft-Lowes, 2449 E Market St

At 1517 hours an Officer responded to Lowes for the report of a purse theft.  The victim advised she momentarily left her purse in a shopping cart.  When she returned to the shopping cart she discovered her purse had been stolen.  Video surveillance was viewed and a photo of the suspect was disseminated for identification assistance.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1800 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft where the suspect fled.  An employee advised a male had taken $219 worth of merchandise without paying and fled when confronted.  While the male was running away he dropped his wallet which contained his ID card.  The wallet was turned over to police and charges will be filed.

Fleeing and eluding-2800 block of Concord Rd

At 1957 hours an Officer attempted to stop a Ford Focus for a traffic violation.  The vehicle fled from police and was last seen traveling south on N Hills Rd.
