On February 18th at 0927 hours Officers responded to the Giant at 2415 E Market St, York PA for the report of a subject who assaulted an employee. The investigation revealed that a male approached a Giant employee in the cash register area and grabbed her from behind. The male attempted to kiss the employee and as she struggled to get away he pulled her to the ground. While on the ground he continued to hold onto the female until several customers and other employees ran over and pulled the male off the victim. They held the male on the ground until the arrival of police. The male was eventually taken into custody as he continued to struggle with officers. The victim sustained apparent minor injuries. The male suspect was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation and it is believed he was under the influence of an illegal substance. The investigation is ongoing and the male will face several charges.
