On 7/23/2023 at 9:00 am officers from the Springettsbury Township Police Department were dispatched to the 2800 block of Glen Hollow Drive for reported gunshots fired in the area. Officers arrived on scene at 9:04 am. Officers located one deceased female with gunshot wounds and an injured male, also with a gunshot wound. The female, identified as Brenda Bowersox (55 YOA) of York, PA was deceased on scene. The male was identified as Steve Bowersox (60 YOA) of York, PA. Steve Bowersox was transported to York Hospital for treatment where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Springettsbury Township Police at 717-757-3525.
This is believed to be an isolated incident. There is no indication there is any danger to the community due to this incident at this time.

Investigation revealed that at approximately 8:56 am, Brenda Bowersox was shot and killed by her husband, Steve Bowersox, as she arrived in her vehicle at the residence on Glen Hollow Drive. Officers were dispatched to the scene and upon their arrival at 9:04 am, saw Steve Bowersox outside to the rear of the residence. As officers were approaching, Steve Bowersox turned a gun on himself and fired. Officers and Emergency Medical Services workers performed life saving measures on Steve Bowersox. He was transported to York Hospital, where at 10:31 am, he was pronounce dead.
