On Monday December 18th STPD Officers handled 27 incidents and investigated 1 motor vehicle accident.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Disorderly conduct-Village Finance, 1771 E Market St

At 1058 hours an Officer responded to the business for the report of a disorderly subject.  An employee advised a male became irate in the business and caused a disturbance.  Charges pending further investigation.

Stolen vehicle-200 block of S Royal St

At 1018 hours an Officer responded to a residence on S Royal St for the report of a stolen vehicle.  The victim advised her vehicle was stolen sometime overnight while it was parked in front of her home.  She believes the keys may have been dropped on the ground the night before when she unloaded the vehicle and were picked up by the suspect(s).

Assault/Hit and run-Pleasant Acres Rd/E Market St

At 1600 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of an assault/hit and run.  The victim advised she was the victim of a hit and run on Pleasant Acres Rd.  She followed the striking vehicle onto E Market St where the other driver assaulted her and fled.  A tag number was obtained for the striking vehicle and the investigation is ongoing.

Hit and run-E Market St at N Hills Rd

At 1550 hours an Officer met with the victim for a hit and run report.  The victim advised she was riding her bicycle in the area on 12/12/17 and was hit by a vehicle that left the scene.

DUI-2300 block of E Market St

At 1606 hours an Officer responded to E Market St near Haines Rd for the report of a male passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle.  The male was found to be intoxicated and he was arrested for DUI.  The male was transported to the hospital for a blood test and then to Central Booking for processing.  Charges pending blood test results.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1738 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft.  An employee advised two females took $42 worth of merchandise without paying.  One female complied with employees and waited for police while the other got in a vehicle and left the area.  A tag number was obtained and the female that left was identified.  Both females have a prior conviction for retail theft and charges will be filed.
