On Monday October 2nd STPD Officers handled 32 incidents, investigated 2 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 2 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Theft-VA Clinic, 2251 Eastern Blvd

At 1040 hours an Officer responded to the VA Clinic for the report of a theft.  An employee advised someone stole sports memorabilia from an office.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1230 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a retail theft in progress.  An employee advised a male was in the store concealing merchandise.  The male was stopped and it was discovered he attempted to steal $118 worth of merchandise.  He was cited for summary retail theft and released.

Retail theft-Sam’s Club, 2801 E Market St

At 1315 hours an Officer responded to Sam’s Club for the report of a female committing several retail thefts over the past two months.  An employee advised the female was on video switching merchandise tags and paying far below the actual value of the item she removed from the store.  The investigation is ongoing.

Possession of marijuana/drug paraphernalia-2400 block of Mt Rose Ave

At 1854 hours an Officer responded to the 2400 block of Mt Rose Ave for the report of a disabled vehicle blocking traffic.  The Officer noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and a small amount and drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle.  Charges to be filed.

Theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 2210 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a theft.  A manager advised an employee was taking cash from a register on several occasions over the last month.  Charges pending further investigation.
