On Wednesday April 5th STPD Officers handled 27 incidents, investigated 1 motor vehicle accident, and responded to 3 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Retail theft/Fleeing and eluding-Boscovs, 2899 Whiteford Rd

At 1007 hours Officers responded to Boscovs for the report of a male who had just committed a retail theft.  An employee advised the male had taken $519 worth of merchandise and got into a blue Chrylser PT Cruiser.  Officers located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop but it fled at a high rate of speed.  The investigation is ongoing.

Disorderly conduct-York Suburban Middle School, 455 Sundale Dr

At 1220 hours an Officer responded to YSMS for the report of a student who pulled the fire alarm.  The investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Victoria’s Secret, 2899 Whiteford Rd

At 1249 hours Officers responded to Victoria’s Secret for the report of several females who had just committed a retail theft.  An employee advised the females had taken $6256 worth of merchandise and fled.  These same females are suspects in several other retail thefts at Victoria’s Secret stores in the area.

Theft from a vehicle-Wendy’s, 2802 E Market St

At 1321 hours an Officer met with the victims who reported their purses were taken out of their vehicle while they were inside eating.

Theft-Central York High School, 601 Mundis Mill Rd

At 1315 hours the School Resource Officer took a theft report from a student who advised that cash was taken out of her gym locker.

Forgery-Candlewyck Ct

At 1355 hours an Officer met with the victim for a report that someone had forged numerous checks in her name resulting a loss of over $3000.  She provided suspect information and the investigation is ongoing.

Criminal mischief-Gabriel Brothers, 1226 Greensprings Dr

At 1533 an Officer met with the victim for the report of someone damaging her vehicle.  The victim advised someone used a shopping cart to intentionally damage her vehicle in the parking lot.

Disorderly conduct/Criminal mischief-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1750 hours Officers responded to the parking lot of Walmart for a fight.  Investigation revealed two males got into a fight over a parking spot and one claimed to have a gun.  During the fight they damaged another car that was parked in the area.  Both males fled prior to police arrival but a witness obtained a license plate number for one of the vehicles they were in.  The investigation is ongoing.

Theft-Sears, 2899 Whiteford Rd

At 2110 hours an Officer took a report for a theft that occurred at Sears.  The victim advised that she inadvertently left some jewelry in a changing room and when she went back it was gone.  The investigation is ongoing.
