On Monday January 30th STPD Officers handled 30 incidents and responded to 2 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia-Rt 30 at N Hills Rd

At 0457 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on Rt 30 and detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  A search revealed the driver and a passenger were in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  The two were released with charges to be filed.

Theft-York Auto Group. 1900 Whiteford Rd

At 0837 hours an Officer took a report for a theft from the York Auto Group.  An employee advised that money had been taken from the business.  The investigation is ongoing.

Attempted burglary-Ace of Vapes, 1218 Greensprings Dr

At 1033 hours an Officer responded to Ace of Vapes for the report of an attempted burglary.  An employee advised that someone attempted to force open a rear door sometime between 1/27/17 and today.  It did not appear that the suspect gained entry and nothing was taken.

Criminal mischief-Pyramid Healthcare, 104 Davies Dr

At 1116 hours an Officer responded to Pyramid Healthcare for a criminal mischief report.  An employee advised that a patient became upset and damaged an item in the bathroom.  Charges pending further investigation.

Theft by deception-Lowes, 2449 E Market St

At 1537 hours an Officer responded to Lowes for the report of a theft that had just occurred.  An employee advised a female entered the store and conducted a fraudulent return, receiving a gift card for $189.  The female provided her ID to process the return, leading to her identification.  The employee advised that this female and a male also conducted a fraudulent return on 12/21/16 and received a gift card for $152.  Charges to be filed for both incidents.

Retail theft-Boscovs, 2899 Whiteford Rd

At 1517 hours an Officer responded to Boscovs for a male in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the male had taken $39 worth of merchandise without paying.  The male was cited for retail theft and taken to Central Booking for a warrant and probation violation.

Found drug paraphernalia-Yorkshire Apartments, 3205 E Market St

At 1805 hours an Officer responded to the Yorkshire Apartments for the report of found drug paraphernalia.  The caller advised the item was found in the laundry room.  It was seized and will be destroyed.
