On Sunday January 1st STPD Officers handled 21 incidents, investigated 1 motor vehicle accident, and responded to 2 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Public drunkenness-Kingston Rd at Pinehurst Rd

At 0314 hours an Officer responded to this intersection for the report of a subject who was stumbling in the roadway.  The Officer made contact with the subject and found he was highly intoxicated.  The male was unable to provide information on where he lived and he was taken to Central Booking and cited with public drunkenness.

Criminal mischief-2400 block of Clearview Rd

At 0947 hours an Officer responded to a residence on Clearview Rd for the report of criminal mischief to a vehicle.  The victim reported hearing a loud bang shortly after midnight and this morning discovered the rear window of his vehicle had been shot out.  A bullet was located in the vehicle and it appears that it was fired by someone celebrating  the new year.

DUI-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1459 hours an Officer responded to the parking lot of Walmart for the report of a female who was “huffing” air duster and was now passed out behind the wheel of her running vehicle.  An Officer located the female and found she was  still in the act of  “huffing” air duster.  The female was arrested for DUI after field sobriety testing.  She was transported to the hospital for a blood test and then to Central Booking for processing.

Retail theft-Dick’s Sporting Goods, 2925 Concord Rd

At 1814 hours an Officer responded to Dick’s Sporting Goods for the report of three subjects that fled after committing a retail theft.  An employee advised the subjects took over $1000 in jackets and fled in a dark van with MD tags.

Drug paraphernalia/Overdose-100 block of Lorenzo Ct

At 2007 hours Officers responded to a residence on Lorenzo Ct for the report of a female who was unresponsive after a heroin overdose.  Narcan was administered and the female regained consciousness and was later transported to the hospital by EMS.  Drug paraphernalia was recovered from the scene but charges will not be pursued because the female is immune from prosecution.
