Shooting/Attempted Homicide

On 12/03/2016 at 02:12 am a Springettsbury Township Police Officer heard shots fired in the area of Northern Way and Eastern Blvd. The officer approached the area and observed two vehicles stopped at that intersection. The one vehicle drove away from the scene and the officer provided the description of the vehicle to other officers in the area. The officer checked on the occupants of the other vehicle and discovered that two females in that vehicle suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The female victims were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

A second officer in the area located the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop it. The vehicle fled south in the northbound lanes of I-83 and the officer terminated the pursuit. Through investigation the actor was identified as Johnathon J. Martin (28) of York. The vehicle that Martin was operating has been recovered. Detective Moyer of Springettsbury Township Police obtained a warrant for Martin. Martin was charged with; 4 counts Criminal Attempt Homicide, 8 counts Aggravated Assault, 4 counts Recklessly Endangering Another Person, 1 count of Possession of Firearm Prohibited, and 1 count of Fleeing or attempting to elude an officer. Martin is considered armed and dangerous.
