On Tuesday November 29th STPD Officers handled 28 incidents, investigated 4 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 2 burglar alarms. Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:
Retail theft-Saubel’s, 3611 E Market St
At 1216 hours an Officer responded to Saubel’s for the report of a female who had committed a retail theft. An employee advised he had video of a female taking $2 worth of merchandise. The female was identified and will receive a summary citation.
Theft by deception-Lowes, 2449 E Market St
At 1230 hours an Officer responded to Lowes for the report of a theft. An employee advised a female had conducted a fraudulent return on 11/27/16 and received a gift card in the amount of $140. This same female had also conducted a fraudulent return on 11/28/16 and received a gift card in the amount of $188. The female provided her ID during each return and charges will be filed.
Retail theft/Theft by deception-Walmart, 2801 E Market St
At 1333 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for two females in custody for theft. An employee advised the females conducted a fraudulent return and received a gift card in the amount of $41. The females then concealed $6 worth of merchandise and left the store. They were identified and released with charges to be filed.
Access device fraud-Kohls, 2600 Pleasant Valley Rd
At 1405 hours an Officer took a report for an access device fraud referred by a police department in New Jersey. The victim in NJ advised someone had opened a credit card in her name without authorization and used it to purchase over $500 worth of merchandise at Kohls. The investigation is ongoing.
Theft by deception-Lowes, 2449 E Market St
At 1447 hours an Officer responded to Lowes for the report of a theft. An employee advised a male had conducted a fraudulent return and received a gift card in the amount of $210. The male provided his ID during the return and charges will be filed.
Hit and run-Walmart, 2801 E Market St
At 1615 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of a hit and run that occurred in the Walmart parking lot. The victim advised her vehicle was struck between 1230 and 1615 hours.
Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St
At 1552 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a retail theft where the suspects had fled. An employee advised a male and female had taken $109 worth of merchandise and fled when confronted. The suspects got into a black Toyota Camry with LA tags and left the area.
