Earlier this year the Springettsbury Township Police Department partnered with the Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Justice Programs (OJP) Diagnostic Center. Over the past several months we have been working with the Diagnostic Center and provided them access to criminal and traffic data, calls for service, incident reports, policies and procedures, rules of conduct, use of force data, internal affairs, citizen complaints, training, and any other information deemed pertinent. This was all part of the Diagnosis Phase of the partnership and we are now starting the Implementation Phase. The Implementation Phase starts with the Diagnostic Center providing the police department with a Diagnostic Analysis. This report provides recommendations developed from the information and data compiled during the Diagnosis Phase. As requested, the Diagnostic Analysis identifies gaps, blind spots and areas that can be enhanced through the use of national best practices.

The Diagnostic Analysis is complete and I would like to share the report with you and other members of our community at a Town Hall Meeting. The Town Hall meeting will be November 21, 2016, at 7pm, at the Springettsbury Township Administration Building in the Board Room. Members of the DOJ, OJP Diagnostic Center and Subject Matter Experts will present the findings of the Diagnostic Analysis. If you have any questions, please contact Administrative Assistant Riley Baker at 717-757-3525 or riley.baker@springettsbury.com. I hope to see you November 21st. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Daniel E. Stump

Chief of Police
