Daily Report for October 25th, 2016

On Tuesday October 25th STPD Officers handled 18 incidents, investigated 4 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 2 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Burglary-Modernaire Motel, 3311 E Market St

At 0615 hours an Officer responded to a room at the Modernaire Motel for a burglary report.  The victim advised someone entered his room overnight and stole a computer.

False ID to law enforcement-3700 block of Stonybrook Rd

At 0905 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on Stonybrook Rd.  The driver of the vehicle provided false information about his identity because he had 6 warrants for his arrest.  The driver was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking for the warrants.  Charges to be filed for providing false ID.

Identity theft-Jayme Dr

At 1130 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of identity theft.  The victim advised someone had used her information to order a cell phone through AT&T.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1629 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft where the male and female suspects had fled in a vehicle.  The vehicle was located and both subjects were identified and taken back to Walmart.  The employee advised they had taken $45 worth of merchandise without paying.  They were each cited for summary retail theft and released.

Retail theft-Lowes, 2449 E Market St

At 1932 hours an Officer responded to Lowes for the report of a retail theft where the suspect had fled.  An employee advised a male had taken $520 worth of merchandise without paying and fled when confronted.  The employee obtained the tag number of the suspect’s vehicle as he fled the parking lot.  The suspect was identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Lowes, 2449 E Market St

At 2134 hours an Officer responded to Lowes for the report of a retail theft where the suspect had fled.  An employee advised a male had taken $74 worth of merchandise without paying and fled when confronted.  The employee obtained the tag number of the suspect’s vehicle as he fled the parking lot.  The suspect was identified and the investigation is ongoing.
