On Saturday July 30th STPD Officers handled 25 incidents, investigated 2 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 1 burglar alarm.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Simple assault/Criminal mischief-Banana Max, 2650 Eastern Blvd

At 0139 hours Officers responded to Banana Max for the report of an intoxicated customer that had broken items inside the bar and punched an employee.  The suspect had left with friends but was located nearby.  The suspect was taken into custody after a brief struggle and taken to Central Booking where he was charged with Simple Assault, Resisting arrest, Criminal mischief, and Public drunkenness.

Theft from vehicle-Argyle Dr

At 0700 hours an Officer responded to a residence on Argyle Dr for the report of thefts from vehicles.  The victim advised that this morning it was discovered that someone had broken out a window on her vehicle and took her purse from inside.  A second unlocked vehicle was also entered and a pair of sunglasses were taken.

Theft from vehicle-Buddy’s Home Furnishings, 1236 Greensprings Dr

At 0915 hours an Officer responded to Buddy’s Home Furnishings for the report of a theft from a company vehicle.  The victim advised that overnight someone had entered a work van and took $600 worth of tools.

Theft of a bicycle-Argyle Dr

At 1051 hours an Officer responded to a residence on Argyle Dr for the report of a theft of a bicycle.  The victim advised a green and black Huffy bicycle was taken off the porch some time overnight.

Hit and run-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1049 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a hit and run.  The victim advised his Acura SUV was struck while he was inside the store.  Investigation pending video surveillance review.

Hit and run-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1407 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a hit and run.  The victim advised her Chevrolet Cruze was struck while she was inside the store.  A witness to the accident provided the tag number for the striking vehicle and charges are pending further investigation.

Prohibited offensive weapon-E Market St at N Hills Rd

At 1856 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on E Market St.  The driver of the vehicle was found to have warrants and was in possession of a prohibited offensive weapon.  He was taken to Central Booking for warrant service and other charges will be filed.
