crash

As the weather takes a turn for the worse, the Springettsbury Police would like to offer some friendly reminders to drivers as they approach crash scenes or emergency response areas.  Please use caution when traveling around crash scenes and be mindful of traffic control devices and Officers or Fire Police as they direct traffic.  Disregarding a traffic control signal or an authorized person directing traffic is a violation of the PA vehicle code and is punishable by a fine of $25.00.  Drivers are also required to slow down and pass with caution in an emergency response area.  For the safety of everyone involved it is important that motorists follow the directions of Police Officers and Fire Police as they direct traffic around the scene.  The Springettsbury Police would like to thank the members of the York Area United Fire Police who consistently respond to direct traffic during inclement weather and at crash scenes.  Their assistance is invaluable to Officers as they tend to the emergency.
