On Wednesday July 11th STPD Officers handled 31 incidents, investigated 2 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 1 alarm.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Theft by deception-Galleria Mall, 2899 Whiteford Rd

At 0950 hours an Officer took a report for a theft by deception that occurred at the Galleria Mall.  The victim advised she purchased a cell phone from someone in the parking lot for cash.  It was later discovered that the phone could not be activated because the cellular company had it flagged as stolen.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1544 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for two females in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the females had taken $729 worth of merchandise without paying.  They were released with charges to be filed.

At 1720 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft that occurred on 6/26/18.  An employee provided video of a subject committing the theft and the investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Boscov’s, 2899 Whiteford Rd

At 1835 hours an Officer responded to Boscov’s for the report of a retail theft where the suspects had fled.  An employee advised the pair had taken $447 worth of merchandise and fled when confronted.  The tag number of their vehicle was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.
