On Friday September 22nd STPD Officers handled 30 incidents and investigated 3 motor vehicle accidents.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Possession of marijuana-2600 block of E Market St

At 0115 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on E Market St.  The operator of the vehicle was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana.  He was taken to Central Booking for an unrelated warrant and charges will be filed.

Possession of drug paraphernalia-Eastern Blvd at Northern Way

At 0157 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on Eastern Blvd.  An occupant in the vehicle was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.  She was released with charges to be filed.

DUI-Rt 30 at N Hills Rd

At 0251 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on Rt 30.  The driver was found to be under the influence and he was taken into custody.  He was transported to Central Booking for a blood test and processing.  Charges pending blood test results.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1617 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft where the suspect fled.  An employee advised a female had taken $94 worth of merchandise and left the area after being confronted.  The investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Cocoa Hut, 3402 E Market St

At 1700 hours an Officer responded to the Cocoa Hut for the report of a theft.  The owner advised a known subject had taken $122 worth of merchandise without paying.  The investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1750 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female had taken $54 worth of merchandise without paying.  She was found to have one prior conviction for retail theft so she was released with misdemeanor charges to be filed.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1829 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for two subjects in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the pair had taken $44 worth of merchandise without paying.  They were released with charges to be filed.

Theft from vehicle-Burlington Coat Factory, 2801 E Market St

At 1916 hours an Officer responded to the above location for the report of a theft.  The victim advised someone had entered her vehicle and stolen her purse while she was inside shopping.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1938 hours Officers responded to Walmart for the report of a male that fled after committing a retail theft.  It was discovered that the male took $559 worth of merchandise without paying.  He was later spotted on Kingston Rd and taken into custody after a foot pursuit.   The male was found to be in possession of the stolen merchandise, drug paraphernalia, and assorted narcotics.
