On Wednesday June 14th STPD Officers handled 20 incidents, investigated 3 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 1 burglar alarm.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Burglary-1300 block of Winterberry Dr

At 0010 hours an Officer responded to a residence on Winterberry Dr for the report of a burglary that was just discovered.  The victims advised they returned home and found someone had forced entry into their home and removed numerous items.  The investigation is ongoing.

DUI crash-Industrial Hwy at N Hills Rd

At 0151 hours Officers responded to the above intersection for the report of a vehicle accident.  The investigation revealed two vehicles collided with one rolling over several times.  The driver of the vehicle that overturned fled on foot from the scene into a wooded area.  He was located by police and found to be injured and under the influence.  He was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries and a blood test.  Charges are pending further investigation.

Vehicle theft-Village East Apartments, 3400 Eastern Blvd

At 1230 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of a stolen vehicle.  The victim advised his Honda Accord was stolen from the parking lot within the past several days.  The vehicle was entered into NCIC.

Retail theft-K Mart, 1094 Haines Rd

At 1735 hours an Officer responded to K Mart for the report of a retail theft where the suspect had fled.  An employee advised the suspect had taken $117 worth of merchandise without paying.  The suspect fled when confronted by the employee and left the area in a vehicle.  The tag number of the vehicle was obtained and the suspect was located at his residence.  He was cited for summary retail theft and released.

Hit and run-Edgewood Rd at Kingston Rd

At 2005 hours an Officer responded to the area of Edgewood Rd and Kingston Rd for a hit and run report.  The victim advised he was rear ended by an SUV which then fled the area without providing any information.  The SUV’s tag number was obtained and the suspect was located at his residence.  Charges will be filed.
