On Monday June 20th 2016, STPD Officers handled 33 incidents, investigated 2 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 2 burglar alarms. Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:
Discharging a firearm into an occupied structure-Eleventh Ave
At 0140 hours STPD Officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Eleventh Ave for the report of numerous shots fired into the home. No one inside was harmed and the investigation is ongoing.
DUI accident-Rt 30 at N Hills Rd
At 1000 hours an Officer responded to this intersection for the report of a vehicle that struck a guard rail. The driver of the vehicle was found to be intoxicated and he was taken into custody for DUI. The driver submitted to a blood test and was taken to Central Booking for processing.
Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St
At 1024 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a male that was in custody for retail theft. The male was found to have taken $19 worth of merchandise without paying. He was released with charges to be filed for his second offense.
Theft-Springetts Oaks Park, Pleasant Valley Rd
At 1235 hours an Officer took a report for a cell phone that was stolen from the park. The phone was later recovered using GPS and returned to the owner, who did not want to pursue charges.
Retail theft-Walgreens, 2350 E Market St
At 1145 hours an Officer responded for a report of a retail theft that occurred on this date at 0209 hours. An employee advised that a female was seen on video going behind the counter and taking several packs of cigarettes.
Theft-N Sherman St
At 1315 hours an Officer took a report for a theft of prescription pills from a residence in the 2000 block of N Sherman St. The victim advised several different types of pills were taken and she provided the name of a suspect.
Theft-Fat Daddy’s, 2510 E Market St
At 1645 hours the victim reported a theft of a cell phone that occurred at Fat Daddy’s. The victim said the theft occurred on 6/11/16 and the phone was valued at $800.
